Jan. 17, 2013: Personal BRANDING STRATEGIES for Today’s Volatile Job Market

UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business cordially invites you to attend a dynamic presentation by John Morel, Associate Director of Career Services for the Evening Weekend, Berkeley Executive MBA and MBA Alumni programs.

John will share valuable information and a fresh perspective on Developing Personal BRANDING STRATEGIES to Stay Competitive in Today’s Volatile Job Market.”

It is essential that you identify and effectively communicate your Brand Promise. This is your statement or statements that combine what you are, with what you can deliver to the company.

Facing a “lean” job market, the goal of all job seekers should be to present themselves as the ideal candidate for a specific career opportunity. From the employer’s perspective, finding the right person for a job is not just a hiring decision – it is also a purchase decision. Therefore, it is imperative that you package yourself in a way that makes you more attractive than all of the other “products” available in the marketplace.

Employers want to know more than whether you can simply do the job. It is also necessary that you can align with the mission, values and philosophy of the company.

You will learn:

  • How to use a SWOT analysis for updating your professional brand
  • To leverage your unique competitive advantage
  • Identify what you want to do going forward

In addition to the information from the seminar you will learn more about how the Haas MBA Alumni Career Management services acts as a partner in providing web-based or in person assistance through the development of lifelong career management skills, along with online career resources and job opportunities.
